

On Friday, September 26, 2008 Frank Wilhelm, CEO of CJL Engineering, was inducted into the Electric League Hall of Fame. This gala dinner is held yearly to commemorate those who have made exemplary contributions to the engineering industry. Frank, who has over 50 years of experience, was introduced at the ceremony by his son and president of CJL, John Wilhelm. Frank’s wife, children and grandchildren were also in attendance to watch as Frank received the engraved crystal award. In his acceptance speech Frank thanked the Electric League for the honor and stated that he has enjoyed working with the many people in the Pittsburgh electrical industry, especially the sales representatives and electrical contractors.
Point Park University Dance Studio Complex
Achieves LEED Gold
The new Dance Studio Complex at Point Park University has recently been certified as a LEED Gold Project according to the US Green Building Council. The Gold rating is second only to Platinum in the LEED rating system. The project garnered a total of 39 points in the LEED rating process. This project was a collaborative effort between the Pittsburgh and Johnstown Offices of CJL.

Relocated to Johnstown’s First
LEED Certified ‘Green’ Building
CJL Engineering announces that it has relocated to 232 Horner Street, Johnstown, PA. The former automobile dealership has been totally reconstructed into Johnstown’s first ‘Green’ LEED building. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance buildings. The new CJL Engineering office building has been designed to achieve a LEED Silver status, under the guidelines established by the U.S. Green Building Council.
CJL Engineering has been ranked as #90 on the recent Consulting-Specifying Engineers Giants 100 list. This ranking represents an increase in MEP design revenue from $7.03 million in 2007 to $8.33 million in 2008. Rankings are based on MEP design revenue for 2008, and examines information from engineering firms nationwide. The Giants 100 list is shown here.
